Yesterday was Sam's last soccer game for the season. I must say, I am really sad that soccer is over, and I think that Sam is too. He really picked up on the game, thanks to coach David, who really tries to put the players into positions and make sure they are having fun too! Sam scored two times and just missed two others times! Sam is really excited about his birthday coming up this week. I am excited for him to have his birthday, but I really can't believe he is turning 5! Today, he got out the subtraction flash cards and wanted to "play" with them. So I tried to teach him to take the first number and put up that many fingers and then take away the next number of fingers and then there is your answer. I truly thought it would go right over his head and he wouldn't understand the concept of "taking away". Boy was I wrong....Sam understood and did a couple on his own! he is such a smart cookie! He also got out letter flashcards and was going through them on his own telling me what all the letters were!
Now onto that crazy little baby of ours, Sydney. She is growing up WAY too fast. Yesterday she decided to eat mac n' cheese and a whole burger for lunch! She refuses to eat baby food and she just turned 9 months! Another tooth just poked through, that makes 5 total teeth now. And today, Syd decided to start cruising around the furniture! The child is all over the place and loves to play with her brother and sister! I caught Anna playing peek a boo with Syd this morning, it was really cute listening to the two girls giggling together. It will be so neat to see their relationship change as they get older, and hopefully closer.
And I can't forget about Anna....where to start with Anna. Anna is in phase where she is starting to pout when she doesn't get her own way. Friday, I was late to pick up Sam from preschool so I helped her get out of the car quickly. Well, Anna did not like that I helped her so she layed down on the sidewalk outside the car and refused to get up! I walked away and kept looking back but she continued to just lay. I walked really far away, she didn't car at all that I had left her. A parent walked by, looking around for her mommy, and helped Anna up. I had to tell the parent that she was with me and everything is fine. Anna proceeded to crawl toward me on the sidewalk. We are now really late to pick up Sam! My blood was boiling. I had to remind myself to take deep breaths. This is Anna's new thing and it drives me crazy! But I must admit she is pretty cute while she is doing it. Anna is just so beautiful. I look at her and just stare all the time. One of Sam's friends' dads said that every time he looks at Anna he just thinks of an American girl doll. I took that as a compliment....I mean coming from someone other than a family member, and a dad for that matter. Oh Anna!
