Sam has a big weekend!

So Saturday was Sam's first Soccer game. Not only was it his first soccer game, it was also his very first introduction into organized team sports. He did awesome! I think it is really helpful that he is almost 5 because he is able to follow directions and is picking up a lot of the main concepts of soccer. So back to Saturday's game. Sam scored the first goal of the game! Jackson passed the ball to Sam and then Sam kicked it into the goal! He was so excited and proud, it was really cute. He was excited to score since I missed him scoring at practice last week.

Then, on Sunday we went bike riding with Jackson and Ella up at Jefferson Elementary. Now both Jackson and Ella have recently taken the training wheels off their bikes. I was fine with waiting until next summer to dive into taking the training wheels off, but Sam insisted he wanted to be like his friends and try to ride on two wheels. So off the training wheels came and he did awesome! I was SO stunned about how well he was able to ride without the training wheels! Greg stayed by him the entire time, but he was able to let go for some long periods of time....sometimes the entire length of the basketball court area. He was so proud of himself and mommy had tears in her eyes she was so proud! Anna of course wanted to ride her bike, and is learning how to push the pedals. She is still trying to make a connection between pedaling and moving the bike forward.....maybe next summer babydoll.

A little update....

It has been awhile since I have written....lets just say it has been a very busy and difficult summer. I think we are all looking forward to the fall and cooler weather!!!! Sydney started crawling a week before her 7 month birthday. I like to call her my "phantom crawler." I would put her down and go do something only to find her in a different room, however you never saw her get there. Yesterday she started pulling herself up on things and then getting stuck standing there, not sure how to get back down. Syd also started saying, "hi" and waving to everyone. Probably because we say 'hi" to her all the time. She also is saying, "dada" all the time. All three of the kids all said "dada" before "mama" no matter how much I coached them on how to say "mama." Sydney's first word, however was the same as Sam's first word, "uh oh," again a word I must say often as I am stumbling through my day. And I am almost positive the girl told me, "na' for "no" the other day. Lets not start already little miss.
Anna amazed me tonight as we layed in my bed, just her and I, reading books. She asked me to read this Winnie the Pooh counting book. I am not even sure where this book even came from. In the book it doesn't really count much, maybe 1-5. Well, on the last page she starts counting the Winnie the Pooh characters and counts to 10 skipping 9 all by herself! I had to ask her to do it several times for me to believe that she could do it! I honestly cannot take the credit for her learning how to count, I am not sure who taught her how to count. When we asked her who taught her how to count she told us school! Anna has been to preschool 3 times and if they were able to teach her how to count that is awesome! I have never heard her count ever prior to this! She constantly amazes me and often I stare at her and think of how truely beautiful my little girl is.
Sam started playing soccer, which is his very first experience with structured organized team sports. He seems to really like it! The other day at practice when the team had a mini scrimmage, Sam scored the only goal! I was really sad to miss his first goal since I was at work, but hopefully there are lots more to come! Tomorrow is his first game....can't wait!
